Stabbing Westward is BACK!!!

Back in 1994 the industrial landscape had been paved by bands like Skinny Puppy and Ministry among others. That year a new band came out of California called Stabbing Westward and unleashed a landmark album called “Ungod”. The record had songs like “Violent Mood Swings” which has been used in numerous movies as well as “Lies”. The album would go on to become a cult classic in the underground world of industrial rock.

By 1996 The band took the world by storm and really introduced themselves to the mainstream world w/ “Wither, Blister, Burn & Peel”. When you turned on the radio it was impossible to miss songs like “What Do I have to Do” and “Shame”.: The brand new bar was set for the industrial / hard rock genre. Meanwhile the band led by vocalist Christopher Hall was quietly working on what would later become the bands masterpiece record.

The band really peaked in 1998 with the release of “Darkest Days”. If you turn on the radio, watch a movie or even turn on TV you would be hard to miss songs like “Save Yourself”, “Sometimes it Hurts” and “Haunting Me”. The band was in its prime, playing huge sellout shows and touring w/ national acts like Depeche Mode, The Cult and Placebo. Songs were used in Movies (“Spawn, “Urban Legend”), Television shows (“True Blood”, ) and even video games like “Duke Nukem: Time to Kill”. The band released one more record before a long hiatus that began in 2001. Chris went on to form the band The Dreaming, while others joined bands like Ecoline Crush, Prick and The Clay People and more. The Dreaming would end up featuring numerous members of Stabbing westward. After releasing 3 full length records a Stabbing westward Reunion was discussed.

In 2014 The band began playing 30 year anniversary shows. The shows were selling out in markets like Los Angeles and Philadelphia. The band continues to play reunion shows and they’ll be coming to Harrisburg Pennsylvania for the first time this saturday. The band plays Harrisburg Midtown Arts Center in the Capitol Room.
